Police investigate after man found dead following altercation in Lincoln County

Maine State Police say they’re investigating the death of a man in Somerville.

Police with the Major Crimes Unit responded to an incident around 10:15 a.m. Shannon Moss with Maine State Police said one man was found dead outside of a home on Rockland Road, or Route 17, after an altercation with another man.

The second man was found wounded with non-life threatening injuries and taken to the hospital.

According to the Kennebec Journal, police said the men were found about two miles apart from each other.

The names of the people involved are not being released pending notification of family.

An autopsy will be performed Friday.
