Police release identity of Portland man killed in crash that split vehicle in half

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Police have released the identity of the victim in a fatal crash in Portland.

According to CBS 13 news, police say 21-year-old Sasa Strejcek of Portland was killed after his vehicle was split in two.

The crash happened on the I-295 northbound on-ramp at Washington Avenue on Tuesday night. The vehicle wasn’t discovered until Wednesday morning.

Strejcek’s vehicle, which was the only one involved in the accident, took out a tree.

Police say they’re still investigating what led up to the crash.
