Police search for driver of van that fatally struck dog in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Police in Portland are searching for the driver of a van who they say struck and killed a dog and then took off.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the dog was hit by a dark colored Toyota Sienna heading west on Saint John Street around 2 a.m. Saturday. The dog was hit in the area between Falmouth Street and Brighton Avenue.

Police are looking for a van that likely has damage on its front and side passenger bumper.

Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
