Police search for man who stole solar-powered stop sign in Limerick

LIMERICK, Maine (WGAN) Police in York County are searching for a man who they say stole a $1,500 stop sign Friday morning.

Police say it happened at the intersection of Sokokis Trail and Burnham Road in Limerick. The man, wearing a tan Carhart jacket and driving a Chevy 1500 with a bed cover, got out of his truck and used a Sawzall to cut down a brand new solar-powered stop sign.

He put it in the back of his truck and fled down Burnham Road. The York County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to give them a call.
