NEW VINEYARD, Maine (AP) Police in Maine said they are continuing to investigate the death of a 43-year-old woman in New Vineyard whose husband said the vehicle they were in went into a pond.

Police responded to the scene on Tuesday to find Collette Daggett lying on the shore of the pond. First responders determined that she was dead. Daggett was married to Wilfred Daggett, 42, and the two lived in New Vineyard.

Police said they have still not released the details of a medical examination conducted in the aftermath of Collette Daggett’s death.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and family about the circumstances that led to the death. The crash took place at the end of Miller Road. Police said Wilfred Daggett called police to report his vehicle submerged in a pond and his wife needed medical assistance.

Wildfred Daggett was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital and released.
