New property values were sent out Friday to property owners in Portland.

It comes following a revaluation of property in the city.

Those notices are expected to arrive in the mail in the coming days, but the city says property owners can also check their new values online.

The city says about a third of property owners should expect an increase in value, a third should see a decrease, and a third won’t see much of a change.

Next is the informal appeals process, in which homeowners can schedule an appointment through the city if they take issue with their new assessed values.
