Another blast of winter weather in Maine has led to Portland officials declaring a citywide parking ban beginning Thursday night.
Any vehicles left on city streets after 10 p.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Portland joins a lengthy list of towns and cities that are putting parking bans in place so crews can clear the roads.
Parking bans were also ordered in Old Orchard Beach and Lewiston-Auburn.
The Associated Press reported Thursday morning that the heaviest snow was falling in southwest Maine. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the area, with 6 to 9 inches of snow expected.
The storm was expected to move out of the area by Thursday afternoon, followed by plunging temperatures and below-zero wind chills for Friday.
