Portland Police Investigating Armed Gas Station Robbery

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN)  Portland Police are investigating a robbery at a gas station on Tuesday night.

Police say just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a man robbed the Riverton Gas Station on Forest Avenue.  Police say the suspect was armed with a silver handgun, which he displayed while demanding cash.

The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen running outbound on Forest Avenue.

Police say the man is described as being white and about 30 years old.  He is about 5’5″ with a thin build, according to police.  He was wearing a heavy dark jacket, dark cap, dark globes and had a half-face ski mask on.

Police say no one was injured during the robbery.
