BANGOR, Maine (AP) Testimony indicates a Maine man scuffled with his sister-in-law’s spiritual adviser hours before he allegedly killed the woman in Hampden.
A police officer testified on the night of Renee Henneberry Clark’s death that she called to report her estranged husband and his brother, Philip Clark, violated a court order by coming onto her property. Then police were alerted to the altercation.
Hours later, Philip Clark is accused of pumping bullets into his sister-in-law, stopping to reload, and continuing to fire into her body.
The officer testified Monday that the minister, the Rev. Anthony Cipolle, told him Henneberry Clark was “scared for her life.” Henneberry Clark had a criminal trespass order in place. If convicted of murder, Clark faces between 25 years and life in prison.
