A 16 year old girl from Fryeburg in a single vehicle crash this morning after a puppy jumped into her lap.

Our info partners at CBS 13 news say the girl was driving her red 2009 Toyota Corolla southbound on West Fryeburg Road around 10:30 a.m. when her 8 week old puppy jumped on her lap causing her to cross lanes, and hit a tree. Her car overturned trapping her until help came.

“Driver inattention/distracted driving appear to be factors in this crash. The operator and her puppy, although shaken up miraculously did not sustain serious injuries.” Chief Joshua Potvin said. “We would like to remind all drivers to remain vigilant and attentive during this holiday season.”

She was treated on scene and both her and the puppy are reported okay.
