A Saco man accused of striking a pedestrian with his car has been charged with attempted murder.

Saco police said the crash was reported around 7:30 Monday morning at the intersection of Main Street and Storer Street. The vehicle was seen fleeing the scene, but police tracked it down about an hour later on Bacon Street in Biddeford.

An investigation revealed that the victim and the vehicle’s driver knew each other and were involved in a love triangle. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Isaiah Dennison, was charged with attempted aggravated murder and taken to York County Jail on $100,000 bail. His court date is in September.

The victim walked home but was later brought to Maine Medical Center. Police didn’t reveal the extent of his injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is being asked to give Saco police a call.
