Sanford man charged with robbery in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN)  A Sanford man has been charged following a robbery in Bangor.

The Bangor Police Department says just before noon on Thursday, they were called to State Street for a reported robbery.

The male victim told police a man he had just driven to Bangor held a knife to his throat and demanded his wallet before running away.  The victim said he had picked up the suspect, who was hitchhiking, before getting to Bangor.

Within minutes, police say they found 41-year-old Craig Paradis on Broadway near Cumberland Street.  Police say he had evidence related to the crime with him.

Paradis was taken to Penobscot County Jail.  He’s been charged with robbery and remains at the jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
