Sanford police investigate shooting at local motel

Police in Sanford say a woman was shot in a motel on Monday afternoon.

Police said emergency responders were dispatched to the Quality Inn around 2 p.m. Monday. They learned that a 31-year-old woman had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

She was taken to Maine Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury to her leg.

Police say they’re looking into the shooting, and that the investigation is in it’s early phases.
