Sanford Walmart to close temporarily for sanitizing, restocking

SANFORD, Maine (WGAN) The Walmart on Main Street in Sanford will be closed for part of the week as the store is sanitized and restocked.

A company spokesperson says the decision was made amid an increase in COVID-19 cases in the area and across the country. The store closed Tuesday afternoon and will reopen 6 a.m. Thursday.

The spokesperson said they’ll continue to follow health guidance once they reopen, including the use of masks indoors even for fully vaccinated people in areas of high virus transmission.
