The Cape Elizabeth Police Dept. says a search is underway for an escaped ram.

The department says the ram got away several days ago.

It was seen Sunday evening in the parking lot at Crescent Beach State Park.

The animal then fled to the Broad Cove neighborhood.

Police say the ram remained in that area for several hours, but no one was able to capture it.

The owner of the animal is asking people who spot the ram to not chase after it.

Instead, individuals who come across it should report its location and direction of travel to the police department.
