Shapleigh woman suffers non-life threatening injuries after crash caused by icy roads

SHAPLEIGH, Maine (WGAN) The driver of a vehicle that rolled over on its side in Shapleigh was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

York County Sheriff William King says 27-year-old Haley Savoie lost control of her vehicle due to icy conditions on Newfield Road in Shapleigh around 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

Savoie was trapped inside the vehicle after it left the roadway and rolled over. Rescue crews were able to extract her and transport her to the hospital.

King says the sheriff’s office would like to take the opportunity to warn early morning commuters about roads freezing up overnight and to take it slow.
