The Maine DOT is working to keep the roads clear as the state gets hit by a snow storm, which is expected to intensify Monday night into Tuesday.

A handful of crashes were reported Sunday night due to slick road conditions along the Turnpike. Two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries after a truck rolled over into the median near Exit 32 in Biddeford.

Some schools announced they were closed Monday, while others started after a delay and some were expected to get out early.

Parking bans were scheduled to get into effect in towns like Falmouth, Biddeford, Lewiston, Kennebunkport and Sanford.

All airlines that travel though the Portland Jetport had travel advisories in place Monday morning. The Jetport says passengers should check with their airlines for updates.

Central Maine Power has additional crews on stand-by in southern Maine, but no weather-related outages were reported Monday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 7 p.m. Monday to 5 p.m. Tuesday.
