ROCKPORT, Maine (AP)   The Maine Fishermen’s Forum is bringing one of the state’s most important industries together in Rockport for the next three days.

The forum begins on Thursday at the Samoset Resort and continues until Saturday. The event includes a trade show, seminars, a Friday night fish dinner and a Saturday banquet and dance.

The Maine Department of Marine Resources typically also uses the event to reveal the state’s commercial catch data from the previous year. The state lobster fishery has set records for volume of catch for several consecutive years.

The trade show includes more than 120 suppliers of commercial fishing equipment and services. Seminars on Friday will focus on the health of Maine’s shellfish industry.
