Police in South Portland say they’re investigating two robberies at local pharmacies, and the crimes appear to be connected.

Officers were called to the Walgreens on Main Street around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Investigators say the man said he had a gun, but he never displayed a weapon.

Police say he demanded cash and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

While police were investigating that case, officers were called to the CVS pharmacy on Market Street after an attempted robbery. Police say the man left empty-handed and didn’t receive any cash in that incident.
