The St. Peter’s Italian Bazaar planning committee kicked off a week of festivities on Friday by delivering the Italian national flag to Portland City Hall.  The flag was flown atop City Hall over the weekend, for the first time ever, to mark the 96th annual Italian Bazaar.

Willie Audet, 2022 Bazaar chairman, delivered the flag to city official John Peverada at 10:00 AM on Friday.  The Bazaar will feature Italian food, games, and culture.

Additionally, Friday night is highlighted by local musician Jim Ciampi and his Dueling Piano act.  Jim is a parishioner and musical director at St. Peters, and Audet said it was a joy to have him be a part of the festival.  On Saturday, three-time national accordion champion Corey Pesaturo will make an appearance and perform.  Pesaturo is also a Guinness world record holder.

The festival draws several thousands to Federal St. in Portland, where the event is held.

The Bazaar will be held August 12th and 13th from 5 P.M to 9:30 P.M.
