Standish Man Arrested on Multiple Warrants

LIMINGTON, Maine (WGAN)  A Standish man is facing charges after speeding away from police during an attempted traffic stop.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says on Nov. 28, a deputy saw Kyle Needham driving on Rt. 25 (Ossipee Trail) near the intersection of Rt. 11, Sokokis Trail in Limington.  The deputy was aware that the 30-year-old was wanted on drug related warrants and tried to stop him, but Needham sped off into Standish at speeds near 100 miles per hour.  The deputy cut off the chase near Bonney Eagle High School.

The sheriff’s office says the deputy obtained a warrant charging Needham with violating conditions of release, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and eluding a police officer.  Needham was arrested on Nov. 30 on his previous drug warrants and for failure to appear, a warrant for eluding and another for unlawful possession of a scheduled drug.

He was taken to York County Jail on all charges.  Bail was set at $10,000.
