Standoff Ends in Dixmont

DIXMONT, Maine (WGAN)  State Police say a standoff in Dixmont is over.

State police say a man barricaded himself inside his home Thursday afternoon.  The standoff finally came to an end around 10 a.m. Friday.

Police say the man is being treated for injuries he sustained as the standoff ended.

Police say the man had fired several shots at police Friday morning, hitting their armed vehicle and a robot.  No officers were hurt.

Police say the standoff happened at a home on North Road.

Further details are expected to be released later Friday.
