Police say deaths of man and woman in Augusta apartment was murder-suicide

AUGUSTA, Maine (WGAN) Maine State Police say the murder-suicide deaths of a man and woman in Augusta are being investigated as a domestic violence homicide.

Police say the woman who was stabbed to death by her boyfriend in is 30-year-old Loryn MccCllett. Her boyfriend, 30-year-old Eric Ryan, shot and killed himself as officers knocked on the apartment door for a welfare check Monday afternoon. McCollett’s body was found in her bed, and Eric Ryan’s body was found in a bathroom with a handgun at his side.

The couple shared an apartment with a friend on Northern Avenue. Autopsies on the two bodies were taking place Tuesday.
