Police have arrested a 20-year-old accused of shooting another man outside of South Portland High School.

Police responded to the high school parking lot Tuesday night to find a juvenile male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

South Portland Police Sgt. Chris Todd said Thursday they had identified the suspect as Eddie Roberts of Portland. He was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.

Police also uncovered a firearm from an address in Portland, which they believe was used in Tuesday night’s assault, but were awaiting confirmation based on further testing as of Thursday afternoon.

Roberts was taken to York County Jail. He’s charged with assault and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
