Suspected Rabid Coyote Shot and Killed

ALTON, NH (WGAN)- A coyote suspected of having rabies was shot and killed Thursday on Mount Major was located and killed Thursday afternoon. The 50-pound animal had threatened several people and a dog on Wednesday and Thursday. Fish and Game officials were able to find the coyote as it had been reported to have several porcupine quills stuck to it’s nose and mouth. Since the animal did not actually attack anyone, officials will not test it for rabies.
