Five men are accused of stealing over $18,000 worth of merchandise from two Lowe’s stores in Maine.

Police were on the lookout for a vehicle that had reportedly been involved in the theft of $10,000 worth of merchandise at the Lowe’s in Brunswick on Tuesday morning.

The vehicle, a white Toyota 4Runner with Pennsylvania plates, was spotted at the Lowe’s on Brighton Avenue in Portland later in the morning. Five suspects were seen moving stolen goods to the vehicle.

The vehicle fled, leading officers on a chase that ended when the vehicle crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection of Brighton Avenue and Machigonne Street.

One suspect was arrested and four others escaped on foot. One person was also injured in the crash and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are asking for the public’s help to find the other four suspects. Police say they were all black males.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
