A suspicious device that was later determined not to be an explosive was found at the Walmart Supercenter in Mexico, Maine on Thursday.

According to the Sun Journal, Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said the package was discovered in a shopping cart around 11:30 a.m. Inside was a cylindrical device with markings and wires on it.

The store was evacuated and the bomb squard was called in. They determined that the device was not an explosive, but an investigation to determine how it got there is underway.

Hodsdon told the newspaper the store has a good surveillance system, but a delivery truck that was parked in the area of interest obscured the camera’s view.
