Three Men Arrested on Various Charges in Scarborough

From Left to Right: Ibekendu Ellenton-Ogugua Mokeme, Jeffrey Devon Silvia, Adrian Candelaria

SCARBOROUGH, Maine (WGAN)  The Scarborough Police Department says three people have been arrested on theft charges.

Police say they ran a vehicle registration in the Wal-Mart parking lot Wednesday on a car that was stolen out of North Carolina.

Police say the officer called for backup, then pulled the car over.  Police say as a result, 19-year-old Ibekendu Ellenton-Ogugua Mokeme, 23-year-old Jeffrey Devon Silvia and 22-year-old Adrian Candelaria were all arrested.

Police say along with the stolen vehicle, a .22-caliber handgun was recovered from Silvia’s front pocket, as well as 11.7 grams of fentanyl.

Police say an embosser machine used for making counterfeit credit cards was in the trunk and Mokeme had 30 counterfeit $100 bills in his pocket.

All three men, from Portland, were arrested on various charges.

Police say the Secret Service is now assisting with the case and additional federal charges are likely.
