Tractor Trailer Catches Fire on Turnpike


KENNEBUNK, Maine (WGAN)  State Police say a tractor trailer was destroyed early Monday morning after it caught fire on the Maine Turnpike in Kennebunk.

The truck was loaded with Coca Cola products and was headed north to Bangor when the driver discovered the fire and pulled the truck to the breakdown lane at mile 26 just after 1 a.m.

All three northbound lanes were closed for a time as the fire was put out by firefighters.

The driver, 46-year-old Corey White from Virginia, was not injured.

The load of soda was also destroyed.
