BANGOR, Maine (AP) Both sides have finished presenting evidence in the murder trial of a man accused of setting fire to a delivery truck while two people were sleeping in the back.

The jury began deliberating the fate of John De St. Croix after closing arguments are completed Friday afternoon in Superior Court in Bangor.

A witness testified that De St. Croix argued with one of the victims before the fire was set. But no one testified that they saw him set the truck ablaze a year ago in Bangor.

Killed were 43-year-old Michael Bridges and 36-year-old Desiree York.

The blaze was so hot that no one was able to rescue the victims, who were heard pounding on the walls in a frantic attempt to get escape.
