Two arrested in Rumford drug bust


RUMFORD, Maine (WGAN) Drug agents and police arrested two people and seized meth, fentanyl, and suboxone from a home in Rumford.

Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency said agents and police searched a home on Knox Street in Rumford on Monday, where they also stopped several vehicles that were seen coming and going from the home.

Police found drugs both in the home and in the vehicles, including 30 grams of fentanyl, 3 grams of methamphetamine, 24 Suboxone strips, and LSD, as well as guns and about $1,800 in drug proceeds. The street value of the drugs seized was $6,000.

30-year-old Derek Gerrish of Sanford was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and violating conditions of release. 28-year-old Chelsea Daggett of Mexico, Maine was also arrested and charged with theft.

Both were taken to Oxford County Jail.
