Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Turnpike Stop


OGUNQUIT, Maine (WGAN)  State Police say a man and woman from Waldoboro and Waterville face heroin and cocaine charges after their car was stopped on the Maine Turnpike in Ogunquit late Wednesday night.

Police say they seized 51 grams of heroin and 31 grams of crack cocaine.

27-year-old Jillian Richards of Waldoboro and 36-year-old Christopher Colbert of Waterville were both charged with aggravated trafficking of heroin and crack cocaine and taken to York County Jail.

Police say Trooper Jesse Duda stopped the couple’s vehicle at mile 13 for a traffic violation just before midnight, as the couple was headed north.

The street value of the drugs is several thousand dollars.
