Police ID victims of double fatal collision in Vassalboro

Police have identified the victims on a deadly two-car collision in Vassalboro Saturday night.

Robert Trudeau, 55, of Winslow and Brenda Clark, 61, of Skowhegan were killed in the wreck on Route 201, police said Monday.

The Portland Press Herald reports Trudeau was pronounced dead at the scene. Clark was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The crash occurred just before 9:30 p.m. after Trudeau’s Jeep Liberty crossed the center line and collided head-on with Clark’s Subaru.

Witnesses reported that Trudeau was driving erratically just before the accident.

Police say there is currently no indication that alcohol or weather conditions played a role in the crash.

Neither of the drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
