Winterport fire claims two lives, officials say

The Maine Dept. of Public Safety has reported a house fire that claimed the lives of two people in Winterport early Thursday morning.

Public information officer Shannon Moss said in an email that the bodies of two adults were found inside the home on Steam Road after the flames were knocked down by the Winterport, Monroe and West Frankfort fire departments.

Moss said investigators believe the people found dead after the fire were 29-year-old Raymond Cornelison and 20-year-old HannahMae McAllister. The two had been living at the residence.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The email said there’s indication of foul play.
