FEMA’s mobile vaccination unit was set to resume vaccinations in Maine Tuesday afternoon, after the state advised health care providers to put a pause on the use of the Johnson & Johnson and vaccine.

The U.S. CDC cited six reports of a rare but dangerous type of a blood clot in recipients of the vaccine, but none of those have been reported in Maine.

The one-shot vaccine was the only one being administered at the mobile unit, which was in Oxford on Tuesday.

The Maine CDC redirected doses of the Moderna vaccine to the unit, which means appointments after 12:45 p.m. were scheduled to continue as planned but all appointments between 8:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Tuesday will need to be rescheduled.
