Maine Game Wardens are responding to another incident involving a person who appears to have fallen in a Maine lake.

The Maine Warden Service said the search is underway for 41-year-old Christopher Friedrich of Oregon. They said he was kayaking on Swan Lake in Swanville, which is located in Waldo County, and was reported missing Tuesday afternoon by his girlfriend.

Wardens found a camp owner who discovered Friedrich’s overturned kayak and some personal belongings on Sunday morning. His vehicle was also found at the Swanville Boat Launch.

His last contact with family was Saturday evening.

Wardens are using sidescan sonar to locate Friedrich, and a dive team was searching an area of the lake.

The news comes as officials reported five drowning deaths in Maine in the past week.
