Warren Man Charged With Arson for Camp Fire

WARREN, Maine (WGAN) A Warren man is charged with arson after fire officials say he helped set fire to a seasonal camp.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office charged 20-year-old Thomas Sawyer with arson on Friday. On April 6th, investigators say Sawyer and two boys, ages 14 and 17, went to the camp of George Gibson on Clements Point road and set it on fire, destroying the building.

Sawyer was already being held on burglary charges at Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset when he was informed of the charges on Friday.

No charges have been filed against the two teenagers.
