FAIRFIELD, Maine (AP) – Firefighters say a woman was found dead following a house fire in Fairfield, Maine.

A 911 call about a residential fire came in at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday. Police and fire crews responded.

Emergency responders determined that a man, identified as 60-year-old Glenn Clausen, who lived at the home, suffered serious injuries as a result of the fire. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Crews found the dead woman inside the house. DNA testing will be used to identify the remains. Authorities believe the woman lived at the home, too.

The fire is under investigation.
