Officers stopped 22-year-old Avery Stemmons and 21-year-old Karina Gonzalez Barreto, both from Killeen, Texas, after they were spotted walking on York Street on Tuesday.

They were charged with murder, arson and abuse of a corpse.

Police also confiscated a gun they believe was used in the alleged murder.
