2 pets killed after fire destroys Searsport home

A home in Searsport was destroyed and two pets died in a fire Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Bangor Daily News, investigators believe the fire started in the kitchen at the home on East Main St. around 12:30 p.m.

The residents managed to get out safely, but a dog and cat were killed.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the fire.
