Memphis/Penobscot County Sheriff's Office

A missing Etna woman was found safe thanks to a Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office K-9.

The 75-year-old woman, who had recently been experiencing medical issues and confusion, had left her Etna property on Saturday morning and her whereabouts were unknown.

Several deputies and the K-9 named Memphis responded to the scene.

Memphis successfully tracked the woman and located her in a dense, wooded area that would have been extremely difficult to search by foot, helicopter, or drone.

Rescue crews and her family helped the woman to safety and was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
