A Woman is Dead After Single Vehicle Crash on the Maine Turnpike

A Brewer woman has died after a crash on the Maine Turnpike near Newburgh yesterday (Saturday).

Maine State Police say troopers responded to the single vehicle crash just north of the Exit 174 on ramp.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver, 58-year-old Darcel Geiser, was traveling northbound in the passing lane when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times.

Geiser was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
