Portland Police are identifying a body found in the attic area of a building at 55 Grant Street back on April 11th as that of 49-year-old Damian Thomas of Portland.

Officers say Thomas had been reported missing, but the death does not appear suspicious.

Police say the death is still under investigation after the fire department used a ladder truck to carry down the body from the attic earlier this month.

Grant Street runs parallel to Park Avenue and is one block away from Deering Oaks Park.

Thomas’ body was found shortly before 4 p.m. on April 11th.
