Bristol Democrat announces run to unseat Sen. Susan Collins

Democrat Jordan Wood of Bristol is running in the 2026 race for the Maine U.S. Senate seat held by five term incumbent Susan Collins.

Wood heads the bipartisan pro-democracy group democracyFIRST, and previously worked in Washington as the chief of staff for a California Democratic Congresswoman.

Wood announced his candidacy Wednesday morning and is the second Democrat to enter the race for Collins’ seat after Natasha Alcala.

He was born in Lewiston.
