Fire causes severe damage, displaces 3, at Auburn apartment building

The Red Cross is helping residents of an Auburn apartment building who were displaced after it went up in flames Monday morning.

Fire crews were called to the building at 39 James Street just after 10 a.m. Monday.

All three people who were inside at the time managed to get out without any injuries, but the building was seriously damaged and left uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
