A New York man charged with murder in the death of a man in Maine has been found not guilty.

23-year-old Jashawn Lipscombe was charged in the shooting death of 33-year-old Joseph Tracy of West Gardiner in June of 2020. According to the Kennebec Journal, Lipscombe was accused of shooting Tracy at an apartment building in Waterville because Tracy was late giving him a ride to the airport.

On Thursday, a judge ruled prosecutors failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Lipscombe pulled the trigger. Prosecutors said there was ample evidence pointing to Lipscombe as the shooter.
