Police-involved shooting under investigation in Bangor

An investigation is underway after a Bangor police officer reportedly fired her gun after responding to a domestic disturbance incident.

According to CBS 13, officers were called to a home on Finson Rd. around 3 a.m.

When they arrived, officer Bobbylee Gillespie reportedly fired her service weapon at a person who was holding a knife.

The individual was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, which weren’t related to the officer’s use of force.

Officer Gillespie has been placed on administrative leave while the attorney general’s office investigates, standard procedure for police-involved shootings in Maine.
