Police say icy road a factor in fatal Waldo County crash

A Belmont woman was killed in a crash caused by icy conditions in Waldo County on Monday morning.

The Maine Department of Public Safety says 30-year-old Tambara Arnold died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 131. The crash was reported a little after 8 a.m. Monday.

Investigators said Arnold lost control on a portion of roadway that was covered in ice. A witness said the driver overcorrected and ended up flipping the vehicle and striking a tree.

Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The crash is under investigation.
