Police Standoff in Wilton leads to man being shot

Maine State police say that a man from Wilton was shot and injured by police after a standoff Friday afternoon.

Police were called to 58 Cemetery Road in Wilton around 1:06 p.m. Friday after it was reported that the 34-year-old Gabriele Wilbur of Wilton had threatened a man who was landscaping in the yard.

CBS 13 reports that Police had attempted to talk to Wilbur, but he refused to listen to the authorities’ commands.

After a short standoff, police stated that Wilbur confronted officers while armed and was shot by police.

He was taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials say Wilbur is expected to be charged with several different crimes.
