Two people were arrested in a Canaan home this week after police found over a pound of fentanyl and other illegal drugs while carrying out a search warrant Wednesday.
According to the Portland Press Herald, Garrett Cote, 24, and Rylee Spofford, 19, were arrested on numerous charges, including aggravated trafficking and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
Skowhegan police say the investigation began with a report of a stolen chainsaw.
As a result of the search, police seized 550 grams of fentanyl, 35 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of methamphetamine and over $1,200 in cash.
Skowhegan police Chief David Bucknam told the Portland Press that Cote was being held without bail at the Somerset County Jail, but online records show he was no longer detained as of Friday.
Spofford was being held at the same jail on $25,000 cash bail.
